The Introduction of a College Drama Queen

Hello! My name is Eileen. Yeah, I know. Eileen. I've heard all of the jokes. "I Lean." Yeah, you get it now that I put it in italics. I've heard it all my life. There was even a commercial once that poked fun at my name. I can't remember what they were selling, or even what it was all about, but there were several people in a staff meeting, who were bouncing ideas off each other about some new product. The funny part of the commercial was that each person in the room was characteristic of their name. One of the men was named Harry, and he was hairy. I mean, the man had hair all over his body! And then there was Eileen...and yes, she leaned. The woman couldn't stand up on her own, she had to lean against the guy next to her. I understood the humor of the joke, but I didn't appreciate it very much.
Now you know my name, now a little bit about me...but not too much, I mean, this is the internet after all! I attend a local community college, even though I've already graduated. That's right. I've got my AA degree, but I'm BACK!! At first, community colleges seem expensive to a kid right out of high school, but once it comes time to pay the $30,000 or so for a "real" college, you realize how affordable a few thousand dollars really is! In all honesty, I'm glad to be back. I love my college, and all of my friends are there. As the title of my blog suggests, I'm a drama queen, and I do mean "drama" queen. I'm BIG into theatre, so I take drama quite seriously. I had a pretty dull, usual, uninteresting life before I started acting, but when I got into acting, everything changed! It's almost as if just being around theatre people, and around theatres themselves has the power add drama to one's life! There was an episode of Sabrina The Teenage Witch once that reminded me of this. In the episode, Sabrina decided that she wanted some spice in her life, so she opened a "Can of Worms"...really, it was an actual can of worms, and her life instantly turned into a soap opera. Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say that I live in a soap opera where I'm dating my tennis instructor, and finding long lost twin sisters (there are always long lost twins in soap opera's) but I find my life to sometimes be beyond the believable. But do you know what? I love it! Some days its tough, but one thing I can never say about my life is that it is boring. I wouldn't trade places with anyone! This is the way God made me, and this is the way I intend to stay. But sometimes, it gets a little tough to just keep all wrapped up inside of me, so I decided to share the strange, crazy, totally not scripted, but often wonderful events in my life with others. That is why I started this blog (that, and the fact that I just saw the movie “Julie and Julia” and was completely inspired!). I hope that you, my reader will enjoy the little peek into my life, and if you like what’s going on, send me a comment! I would love to hear from you!
Sincerely, Eileen D.
